Bray Lions Club Seeks Young Ambassador
(Applications invited each year between September-October)
Each year, Bray Lions Club searches for a Young Ambassador who will represent the club in an international competition.
The Lions European Young Ambassador programme rewards young people (aged under 19 on 30th June of the year of application), who are making a contribution to their local community through voluntary work, sporting activity or good citizenship.
The Ambassador is selected by Bray Lions Club in October each year, and will participate in a Regional Final where candidates for the National Final (held the following January) will be chosen. A Young Ambassador will then be selected to represent Ireland in the European Competition which takes place in a different venue each year. Prizes and bursaries are awarded to winners and Bray Lions Club will sponsor its candidate throughout the competition.
Adam Harris, founder of ASIAM - Ireland's National Autism Charity, was the 2013 Bray Lions Club Young Ambassador won the Ireland and UK Young Ambassador competition. He represented Ireland in the European Final in Istanbul, Turkey in Oct 2013, winning 3rd prize.
Clare Brady, founder of Bray Lakers was one of Bray Lions Club's original ambassadors.
